The famous Mayan calendar ended in 2012, everyone said that this year would be the last for our civilization and the end of the world would begin with its end. We decided to use this legend at the celebration of Sibur’s 17th birthday and developed a concept that included a show program and an interactive part.
All the festivities were held under the theme of Mexican culture and Maya civilization. We developed a rich interactive program for guests in the format of quests based on this entourage. Each quest contained a bright element of Mexican culture and had a separate decorated area: limbo, pinata, aquatic, shamanic cooking, games of ancient Indians and painting of Teotihuacan.
For successful implementation of the tasks guests received a pinch of granulate, poured into amphorae, distributed to all. After passing all the tests, the guests had to pour the received sand into the wheel of the ancient calendar, which was located on a decorated pyramid in the center of the stadium, thereby a light show marking the beginning of the evening show-program started.
In addition to the main part, guests could visit a lot of master classes: from learning how to play maracas to making carnival masks and culinary dishes from cactus. Throughout the interactive program the guests enjoyed the performance of Mariachi musicians and Mexican dancers.
Timur Rodriguez was the host of the evening, and the show program opened with the performance of gymnasts, continued with stylized dancers, a fakir and a horse show. After the solemn opening everyone enjoyed the performances of “Zveri” and “Quest Pistols”. The grandiose pyrotechnic and laser show was at the end of the evening.
